Startup Runway is a 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing the top 10% of women- and minority-led startups across the Southeast and connecting them with sophisticated investors who understand early-stage companies. We’re keeping track of our finalists, and will publish updates on them regularly. Today we’re catching up with Mixtroz, a Startup Runway Finalist from our Fall 2017 edition.

Mixtroz is an app created by a mother-daughter team that enables meeting attendees to easily connect and engage with one another while helping the host of the event learn more about them based on their responses to customized questions. This app matches attendees with 3-10 fellow attendees that gave similar responses to the questions and guides them to those persons for a personalized group networking experience.

Since competing in Startup Runway’s Fall 2017 edition, Mixtroz has has received awards, funding, and international attention for their unique services. “At the very beginning of 2018, Mixtroz was selected for Birmingham’s Velocity Accelerator and we have since completed that program,” said Ashlee Ammons, Mixtroz Co-Founder & COO. “Mixtroz also won First Place Invio Solution in the Creative Business Cup Global competition.

“We recently received a $100,000 investment from Steve Cases’ Revolution Fund upon winning the Birmingham Rise of the Rest pitch competition this past May, and are currently raising a $1 million round.”

Mixtroz was featured on A+E’s show, Rooster & Butch, a show where two investors invite entrepreneurs from across America to come to West Texas to make their case to secure funding for their venture. Mixtroz continues to attract recognition as far as Australia and as prestigious as the New York Times!
