Lisa founded Valor Ventures in 2015 and is the first woman to launch a venture capital firm in Georgia. Lisa’s mother, grandmother, and great grandmother were entrepreneurs. Lisa’s passion is supporting quality founders and executives in creating original, high-performance outcomes. Her experience and entrepreneurship have contributed to over a billion dollars in exit value from emerging technologies.
Since founding Valor, Lisa is known for pioneering platforms that connect private capital to transformational investment opportunities. For example, she founded the Startup Runway Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit which runs the largest pitch event for underrepresented founders in the country. She is proud of outcomes including that its over 100 alumni are 9X more likely to raise a seed round. Valor is also the producer of the Atlanta Startup Podcast.
Before Valor, Lisa founded Write2Market, a digital marketing agency recognized by Hubspot as one of the “Top 10 Agencies for Tech Startups.” There she supported dozens of startups in early scale, many through their exits to public markets or acquisitions. Earlier in her career, Lisa worked in IT consulting, helping large organizations including UPS and the State of Georgia solve complex problems with code.
